Ertugrul stars express grief, share sadness over loss of lives in plane crash in Pakistan
Turkish historical drama series Diriliş: Ertuğrul stars have expressed their grief and shared the sadness with families over the loss of lives in a plane crash in Pakistan.
A passenger plane owned by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) with estimated 99 people onboard crashed in Karachi on Friday.
Spokesperson for PIA confirmed that 91 passengers including a Pakistani model Zara Abid and eight crew members were traveling from Lahore to Karachi.
Turkish stars from Ertugrul, a popular historical drama being aired in Pakistan in Urdu language, took to social media to mourn the loss of precious lives in the incident.
Esra Bilgic, who is essaying the role of Halime Sultan in Ertugrul, commented on Zara Abid’s Instagram post and wrote, “I’m really sorry for being late to follow you back, Zara. All Pakistan and Zara’s family, please accept my most sincere condolences on your loss today. Rest in peace.”
Another actor and close aide of Ertugrul in the drama series Nurettin Sönmez aka Bamsi offered his condolences on incident and showed his support with Pakistan in such hard time.
He shared in his Instagram story saying that “am sorry….condolences…. sharing the sadness.”
Abdurrahman Alp aka @celalall also turned to Instagram and wrote, “Our Pakistani brothers we share your pain. May God have mercy on those who died in plane crash.”
