‘Neelam Ghar’, ‘Tariq Aziz Show’ host dies in Lahore at age of 84

Legendary Pakistani television anchor Tariq Aziz, who is the pioneers of TV game shows in the country, passed away in Lahore on Wednesday, his family has confirmed. He was 84.

Tariq Aziz, who started his career from Radio Pakistan, was best known for popular quiz show Neelam Ghar, started in 1974 and later its name was changed as Tariq Aziz show.

Tariq Aziz continue to rule Pakistan television for four decades with Neelam Ghar.

Politicians, celebrities and sports person paid rich tribute to Tariq Aziz for his services to Pakistan.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also turned Twitter to pay homage to Aziz.

Khan tweeted, “Saddened to learn of the passing of Tariq Aziz, an icon in his time and a pioneer of our TV game shows. My condolences and prayers go to his family.”

Pakistani celebrities and sportsmen also took to social media to pay tribute to Tariq Aziz.

Leading actress Mahira Khan tweeted “Legend is, what legend does. He served us all. For so so long. Pakistan is indebted to you Tariq Aziz Sir. Truly, the end of an era. May Allah bless you. My condolences to his family and all of Pakistan.”
